Module Papers

These mini-term papers are your chance to investigate something of interest to you that surfaced during each particular module of the course. Examine a topic that interests you and would be useful for you to explore in more detail.  You will write and submit four mini-term papers during the course, each of which should be 5-8 pages.

For each of these papers, you have two options:

1. Compare and contrast issues raised during the particular module by either identifying critical elements common to the module topics, or talking about an axis of difference between the topics and how those differences would impact the creation/moderation/execution/etc. of any one module topic.  The paper should indicate a student's understanding of various moduletopics (and related communities) and ability to elaborate clearly on the similarities and/or differences between them.

2. Focus on one module topic or sub-topic.  Choose one issue raised in the module and then conduct independent research to craft a paper that is both informed and informative on that topic.  The paper should indicate a deeper level of student understanding on one particular topic than that discussed in class.

Turn in your papers by emailing them to the course instructors, on or before the due date.  It is your choice as to whether or not to post your papers on your blog.

Papers due on the following dates PRIOR to class: February 12, March 4, April 8, and April 29.
